Bertu was a small village outside of Kethenecia, 3000 years ago, with an outstandingly friendly people. When Richard opened a time portal for Cale'anon, Benn'joon, Krunch, Tavor, Sooba and himself, this was the location of their arrival. They met the Archmage of Kethenecia in this village and were taken to his tower, while Richard were left to sleep in an alley guarded by Sooba. When he awoke, he went on a killing spree, decreasing the population of the village from a four-digit number to one-digit.
